Rates
The prices listed on the Tawana Self Drive website and in our commercial proposals are displayed in euros. These prices vary depending on the season, length of stay, starting and ending locations, countries visited, number of travellers, exchange rate, and various parameters related to the customisation of your trip.
The final prices applicable to you are those mentioned in our commercial proposal and are valid for one month from the date the quote is issued. However, the cost of the trip may change at the time of booking, depending on the availability of vehicles and accommodation, only with your agreement.
The 4×4 rental rates for fully-equipped 4x4s are always per day, not per 24-hour period.
Designing your trip and making reservations
After an initial contact by email or phone to discuss your travel wishes, we will draw up a first proposal to serve as a basis for discussion to define a tailor-made trip that perfectly meets your expectations.
Once the itinerary has been finalised, the financial estimate accepted and the travel dates confirmed, we proceed with the pre-booking of the various services for your trip. In the event of unavailability, we will offer you the best possible alternative, taking care not to compromise the planned itinerary and to stay as close as possible to the estimated budget.
Confirmation of your trip
The trip is definitively booked upon receipt of our invoice and after payment of a deposit equal to 25% of the total cost of the trip, or according to the specific conditions of the lodges. The balance is due 61 days before departure.
Payment
Payment for your trip can be made by credit card on our website via the secure VCS payment system, in local currency only (BWP). The equivalent amount will be indicated on your invoice. Payment can also be made by bank transfer in euros, as the pula is not an international currency.
We invite you to carefully check the guarantees offered by your credit cards before choosing your payment method, as well as the fees associated with international transactions at your bank.
Travel insurance
Travel insurance and cancellation insurance are the sole and exclusive responsibility of the client. When booking a safari, these insurances are strongly recommended in order to benefit from optimal medical coverage and assistance and insurance guarantees to deal with unforeseen events before and during your stay.

In the event of cancellation of your trip, the following charges apply:
Special conditions related to booking a self-drive safari and renting a 4×4
Security deposit
A security deposit is required on site on the day the vehicle is picked up. The amount is specified in our commercial proposal. A credit card is required (Visa or Mastercard). Upon return, vehicles must be returned on the date and at the location agreed upon in the contract with the rental company, before 4 p.m.
Vehicle insurance
The driver is liable for damage to the vehicle up to the excess amount indicated in our quotes, except for exclusions mentioned in the rental contract. The excess amount can be limited by taking out additional insurance with the rental company, which is offered as an option in our quotes. This generally includes tyres and the windscreen. Some credit cards offer guarantees or excess buybacks for 4×4 rentals, so check with your bank before choosing your payment method.
