There are strict rules to follow when visiting Botswana’s national parks and reserves. Please take the time to read them carefully. Compliance with these rules is essential for the well-being of the animals, the protection of the environment and to ensure the success of your experience.

Please adhere to the national parks regulations and help us protect Botswana’s magnificent nature and wildlife.

How to adopt the right attitude when camping?

On campsites, discretion is key. People come here to connect with nature and listen to birdsong, rather than their neighbours’ conversations.

  • Do not play music, even at low volume, and do not play instruments. Instead, let yourself be enveloped by the sounds of the bush!
  • Speak softly. If you are in a group, keep as quiet as possible and minimise your voices so as not to disturb the peace and quiet of other campers.
  • Above all, do not try to attract animals by leaving water and food on the campsite.
  • Use soft lights and turn them off while you sleep. Do not use powerful torches to shine on animals. The night belongs to them!
  • Avoid constantly slamming car doors.
  • Sleep with your car keys handy. Sometimes the alarm goes off unexpectedly at night.
