We came back from a two week self-drive safari in Botswana in September… a timeless moment of immersion in the wild life.
We had put all our trust in Julie and Vincent, for whom we immediately felt a sympathy and a love for this country. Once we arrived on the spot, after a last briefing, it’s the big departure, here we are alone, without any network in our 4×4 renamed “Babush”. It served as our home and led us to a safe harbour during these 15 days… even though it had to endure a lot of “gravel road” and bumps of all kinds!
On the programme: fabulous encounters with zebras, wildebeest, impalas from the first day, a lioness appearing in our binoculars at Nxai Pan, a leopard resting on his tree at Third Bridge, a sunrise alone in the world at Kubu Island, lodges that always arrived at the right time and memories of wild noises at night that made these moments completely out of time.
Julie and Vincent have always been available and helpful before, during and after the safari! Our first trip to Africa would not have been the same without their support and collaboration!
We can’t wait to come back and experience these unique moments in this preserved nature again.
