We have just spent fifteen absolutely magical days in Botswana: unique moments forever engraved in our minds and hearts at the CKGR, at Nxai Pan and in the Okavango Delta (Khwai).

The game viewing in Botswana is phenomenal. This self-drive safari gave us a great feeling of freedom and hapiness. We only have one wish: to go back!

From our few days in the CKGR, we will remember in particular:

* The intense colours of the sunsets at Piper Pan,
* The sandy tracks (sometimes endless for me and on the contrary great for Florian!)
* The gemsbok, springbok, wildebeest, kudu, ostriches, jackals, otocyons, giraffes, roaming the huge desert and semi-desert areas,
* The sounds of the bush at night,
* The sighting of a lion in the early morning in Letiahau: we first heard it roar from our campsite and then found it a few kilometres further on. We were alone to observe it… what luck!
* And, in general, the total immersion in this nature so grandiose and so preserved.

At Nxai Pan, we were greeted by an elephant who was doing his little trick in the South Camp. We loved to watch the many elephants that gathered near the waterhole at the end of the day. We just had to enjoy the magnificent spectacle from our 4×4: bathing, playing, bickering or demonstrating strength!

We ended our trip in the Okavango Delta (Khwai) and fell in love with this area. The green landscapes are simply sublime and the life along the Khwai river is incredible:

* The birds are numerous (small Kingfisher and very colourful rollers, majestic Fish eagle, Tawny eagle…) and they live alongside antelopes (waterbuck, red lechwe, impalas…), hippos, crocodiles or elephants coming to refresh themselves in the river.
* We witnessed three lionesses crossing the river: magical!
* We were also very emotional when we saw two leopards: we were speechless, amazed.

A big thank you to Tawana for this unforgettable adventure! We highly recommend Julie and Vincent, whom we had the pleasure of meeting, for the organisation of a trip to the heart of Southern Africa.
