A year and a half after we first got in touch with Tawana, the doors to Botswana finally opened for us in November 2022!
A dream come true: exploring the trails of southern Africa, from Victoria Falls to the Okavango Delta!
The trip was perfectly organized remotely, allowing us to set off with peace of mind: camps, cars, and connections, everything was perfect.
All that remained was to let ourselves be “carried” along the tracks, sometimes sandy, sometimes gently muddy at the start of the rainy season!
In Botswana, nature expresses itself fully, and we are completely immersed in it along our route.
The magic works and has many surprises in store around every bend in the road:
– A family of elephants with calves playing in the mud next to us;
– Giraffes watching us placidly as we pass by;
– A lion cub wandering around under the watchful eye of a large male;
– Not to mention the hundreds of impalas and buffaloes in the plains or under the trees…
Botswana is also about experiencing an authentic journey, and a self-drive safari is the perfect way to do so. What a joy it is to find ourselves alone in the morning and evening, enjoying coffee or dinner in the heart of the areas where the animals live, listening to the lions roar at night (right, Emilie 😊!) and the many sounds of the bush. Campfires, sunsets, barbecues with a glass of aperitif are part of these special moments.
We were lucky enough to take a Mokoro ride and a helicopter flight over the Delta to end our stay. Fantastic! All these moments, all these colors (the red sand of Chobe…), all the faces and smiles we encountered make this trip a unique journey that we definitely want to repeat one day.
Thank you to Julie and Vincent for their kindness, advice, and numerous details that made our trip a complete success.

This experience of the bush, by our own, in the middle of nowhere, was awesome! The atmosphere is unique and , for sure, we will be back!
