We returned to Botswana after a four-year absence and had an even more memorable stay than before.

From an unforgettable encounter with our first wild dogs in Mbudi, to lion cubs stealing the show in Savuti and Chobe, a close encounter with a hyena during dinner at Third Bridge, visits from jackals in the Kalahari, our pair of lions in Passarge, and many other animals. It is well known that it is easier to observe animals during the dry season, and surprisingly, we saw more this time around.

We also loved the varied landscapes at the end of the rainy season, with the scents of flowers and vegetation accompanying us along the tracks, sunsets that only Africa can offer, the sounds that lulled us to sleep at night, and the starry sky of the Kalahari.

It’s not easy to summarise 17 days of travel in a few lines, but if we had to do it all over again, we wouldn’t change a thing. We would revisit the same parks, for the adrenaline rush of the Khama Rhino trek, for the visual delight of the helicopter flight over the Delta, we would be willing to relive the flat tyre in the Khwai concession, we would always welcome the elephant visit to the Mbudi camp as long as it leaves before aperitif time, etc.

A big thank you to both of you and your team. We look forward to seeing you again in four years.
