I would like to thank you for your support in helping me complete this project.

Be proud, because you helped turn what was initially a complicated trip, due to my lack of knowledge about Namibia, into a moment of pure emotion. I must say that it is now, two weeks after my return, that I am beginning to realize the emotional intensity that this adventure gave me.

I wanted to discover the desert in a week: Naukluft, Sossusvlei, then Spitzkoppe, Brandberg. Due to fatigue and the time spent driving on gravel roads, Naukkuft would have deserved one more night, as would White Lady. I had to skip Swakopmund and Walvis Bay a little, but I have no regrets.

The Etosha part was remarkable! Thank you for your advice on accommodation: five dreamy nights in addition to beautiful days and animal encounters. Although my first encounter with a family of lions just after entering the park was brief, I quickly learned to stop and appreciate the moment, and I think I had beginner’s luck. I loved Hobatere Lodge! And I agree with you about the western part of Etosha, which is very peaceful and full of wildlife.

As for the Caprivi Strip, I also loved Mahengo and Bwabwata. It was amazing to see the hippos up close! Nkasa Rupara, on the other hand, was a bit of a disappointment because the marshes were dry and there was less wildlife.

Chobe National Park was spectacular! I was spoiled: I saw lions and leopards, which I had been missing in my quest to see the Big Five!

I learned that just because you drive a 4×4 doesn’t mean you can go everywhere (sand dunes in Sossusvlei) and that driving requires a lot of energy, especially when traveling alone.

To conclude: once again, a big thank you for this first experience. First experience, because I plan to return in another season with the main focus on observing the animals in the parks, which was truly magical!
