Southern Africa at last!

We started planning this project with Julie and Vincent before the COVID pandemic brought us to a screeching halt. A year later, we finally took a flight from Switzerland to Windhoek. We spent 45 days in Namibia aboard a fully equipped Toyota Hilux. Before leaving, we were a little worried: will we be able to drive on these sandy tracks or to deal with the water crossings… You know, we are only used to the easy tarred roads of Switzerland and Europe! But the quality of the vehicle, the equipment provided (compressor, spare wheels, shovel, etc.) and all the advice we received during the 4×4 handover gave us a great confidence.

We were totally ready for a big tour around Nambia. On route, the magic operates immediately: breathtaking landscapes, animals in abundance, calm and serenity in large and well-equipped campsites, attentive and knowledgeable people… In addition of the good advices on our itinerary given by Julie and Vincent!

Self-driving was very easy !! The inclusive equipment makes it possible to cook delicious meals, it is super easy to find the gas stations, the roof tent is very comfortable and practical. To avoid trouble, just take your time and choose a 4×4 that fits your route (or adapts your route to your vehicle).

The only regret we have is that we could not stay longer… Each corner of Namibia is a treasure and the possibilities are endless. We can’t wait to return!
