Our passion for southern Africa began 4 years ago, when we made a ten-day trip accommodated in lodges with a tour operator in Namibia. Quickly, we noticed on the spot many selfdrivers who camped in beautiful places, sleeping in their roof tent, all very relaxed! After experiencing self drive trips in other countries (South Africa, Namibia, Iceland, Oman), we dreamed to travel Botswana independently, to enjoy the landscapes, the local people and of course the magnificent wildlife. Project completed this summer for 4 weeks in our Toyota Land Cruiser prepared by Julie & Vincent. A journey through the Caprivi Strip, the Panhandle, the Delta, the CKGR (Kalahari), the Salt Pans of Makgakdigkadi, the Hwange Park in Zimbabwe and finally the Victoria Falls.

Tawana has concocted an exceptional itinerary: their excellent knowledge of the terrain, roads and camping sites, allows you to discover the best of the country and to gain valuable time in preparation. Julie and Vincent adapt the schedule according to your preferences. We spent fantastic evenings in absolutely incredible campsites, which we clearly would not have been able to know and even less to book ourselves.

For any unforeseen or logistical issues along the way, Julie and Vincent are available very quickly through Whatsapp and via the satellite phone provided with the car.

If you have never had the opportunity to experience a self drive trip, we highly recommend Tawana Self Drive: Julie & Vincent will guide you and advise you to make your trip a memorable one. Botswana is also a very safe country and its inhabitants are all very welcoming. This explosive cocktail will ensure you have a wonderful stay that you will probably remember for a long time.

When are we leaving again? :-)
