We went exploring Lekhubu Island with a camping equipped Toyota Rav4 from Tawana Self Drive. Since Nata, we drove on more or less difficult tracks during 4 hours. But it’s worth it just for the diversity of the landscape all along the way. This also gives the opportunity to visit some villages and farms. We did see ostriches and a multitude of colorful birds as well.

At the end of this track stand the reward: Lekhubu! with its lunar landscape that suddenly appears like a mirage. Spending the night in this mystical place was an unforgettable experience! We felt like we had reached the limit of the world on this bare land. The sunset and the sunrise on the baobabs in this setting of green lava is just breathtaking!
