Our happy selfdrivers

France, August 2022, Camping fully equipped Hilux
After two postponements due to the pandemic, we (2 families, 11 people) were finally able to discover Botswana. We were patient and it was really worth it. We had a fantastic time!
Botswana is really an animal paradise. The light on the African bush is magnificent in August and the sunrises and sunsets are magical.
Our journey, from Kasane to Maun, self-driving through the Chobe National Park and the Moremi Game Reserve, allowed us to feel really alone in splendid landscapes, to enjoy a wild nature and to have an incomparable proximity with the omnipresent and varied wildlife.
We camped in magical places with sometimes nocturnal animal visits (elephants at Savuti and South Gate, lion at Khwai North Gate, hippo at Xakanaxa). Our favourite place was Ihaha camp where the sunset over a huge herd of elephants and zebras with the Chobe River in the background was just breathtaking. We were surprised to discover that the sanitary facilities at each camp were all refurbished and in perfect condition.
Thanks to Vincent’s training on sandy tracks and the good condition of the three Toyota Hilux (also perfectly equipped and comfortable), we were able to venture into every corner of the bush without any problems.
Thanks again to Julie and Vincent for their advice in planning our trip and their support during our stay. We also give a special mention to the very complete roadbook made by Tawana!
Putting faces to these two names which seemed familiar to us after our numerous exchanges by email or telephone, delighted us during our meeting in Maun. We wish you all the best for the future.
