Self-drive safaris in southern Africa: a real passion that brings us back to Botswana for another three-week trip.
As usual, we were a little apprehensive that the animals might not be there, but as usual, we feel we have been rewarded.
This year was the year of the lions, which we saw in all four parks we visited, with observation conditions as exceptional as ever. For us, the national holiday came three days early, as July 11 was a fireworks display: lions, lionesses, wild dogs, and leopards all on the same day!
We were lucky enough to see all three types of hyenas: spotted, brown, and protele. Only one creature eluded us… the cheetah. Maybe next time!
The evenings spent camping, around the campfire, enjoying aperitifs, friendly visits, and the sounds of the bush remain memorable moments.
Oh yes, not to mention one last memorable encounter: the few hours spent with Julie and Vincent!

This experience allows you to forget the everyday life and the connected world. We certainly empty our head and we take full advantage of this simple life in the middle of nature and exceptional wildlife.
