Here we are back in Southern Africa for three weeks on our third trip organised by Julie and Vincent.

We’re delighted to be spending three days back in Namibia before heading off to KTP for ten days. We were due to finish our trip in the Okavango Delta, but with the flooding in Moremi, Julie and Vincent came up with a Plan B for us, and we returned to the Kalahari Desert before rounding off the trip in Khwai, Savuti and Chobe.

Once again, thanks to the whole team at Tawana, it was a flawless experience: advice on the itinerary, choice of accommodation and campsite, the various stops along the way… And even though we’ve been lucky enough to explore Southern Africa for several years now, we still appreciate their invaluable advice just as much.

This year we were incredibly lucky with our sightings of big cats. We saw lots of lions, lionesses and their cubs; three magnificent leopards and a caracal came right up close to the 4×4, much to our delight! Plus a few spotted hyenas, a wildcat, wildebeest, buffalo, greater kudu, roan antelope, impala, springbok, damalisque, elephants, giraffes, hippos, jackals, mongooses and vultures feeding on a giraffe carcass…

This trip was as thrilling as ever, every single day, as we watched the animals and their interactions.

We’re already thinking ahead and exchanging emails with the Tawana team about our trip in 2027.
