A promise is meant to be kept. After two years of renovating our future home, it was time for us to introduce our twins to Africa! We were a bit late with the booking, but Julie and Vincent worked a little miracle by organising this bespoke ‘last-minute’ trip for us.

It wasn’t the first time we’d been on this sort of trip to the other side of the world, but we were really setting off on a new, unique adventure, driving a 4×4 on our own with our roof tents. Off to the Central Kalahari for a few nights in the middle of nowhere. That feeling of being alone, the four of us, finally enjoying what we miss most in our daily lives… TIME. Taking the time to watch the sun set, taking the time to observe, taking the time to savour that little coffee, taking the time to scan the horizon in search of our first giraffe, and so on…

And then we headed north, towards that famous delta. A completely different world, where reed and papyrus marshes stand side by side with sandy lands, creating a striking contrast. It’s always such a pleasure to discover new animals every day, in habitats that are almost different each day.

And so, our little adventure has come to an end, and we return with images etched in our minds for many years to come. Once again, a huge thank you to Julie and Vincent for your professionalism and attention to detail in organising this dream holiday!
