After falling in love with the South African parks a few years ago, we were looking for a more authentic experience in Botswana. We are not disappointed!

Initially scheduled for 2020 … then 2021 … then 2022, our Botswana dream finally took place this year.

For a little over 3 weeks, we travelled with our two teenagers through this beautiful country. We chose to go on a self-drive safari and I highly recommend it!

In addition to the marvellous places we visited and the hundreds (thousands) of magnificent animals that we were able to observe up close, I particularly appreciated the total break from our daily life, the idyllic campsites where we stayed in our 4×4, the nomad life, the total disconnection imposed by the absence of a network on part of the territory, the long nights when we were cut off from the world, the obligation to draw on our resources and to manage even in the most difficult moments, the wonderful moments we spent with our family…

As for the places that I particularly liked and that I recommend (these places are not the same for all the members of the family, but as I am the one writing, I choose them ;-) Kubu Island, Nxai Pan, Boteti River, Mbudi, Chobe River and Victoria Falls.

A special thank you to Julie and Vincent for their excellent organisation, the useful road-book they gave us, the precious advices they gave us during the preparation of our trip, their availability and their kindness.
